What is the duration of the SSC CGL exam?
SSC CGL Tier 1 is 60 minutes for 100 questions. Candidates eligible for a scribe generally get 80 minutes.
Tier 2 Paper 1 has multiple sections and modules with separate timing as specified in the notification. Other Tier 2 papers, when applicable, have their own time limits.
Practise with a timer from the beginning. Tier 1 gives less than one minute per question, so selection depends on choosing the right questions quickly.

Exam Action
What to do after understanding: What is the duration of the SSC CGL exam?
A doubt is useful only when it becomes an action. After reading the answer, update your exam-day checklist, adjust your mock-test rules, and practise in the same conditions you will face in the SSC CGL computer-based test.
Rule clarity
Keep the answer short and practical. If the rule affects documents, calculator use, timing, attempts, or marking, write it into your final exam checklist.
Mock simulation
Practise your next SSC CGL mock test using the same rule. This prevents surprises during the real CBT and makes your preparation closer to exam conditions.
